About the Kao ICS
Welcome to the Kao Innovation & Collaboration Studio (Kao ICS), the University of Tennessee’s premier student-operated makerspace.
Hosted by the Tickle College of Engineering in Zeanah G166, Kao ICS is designed to provide a supportive environment where you can develop the skills and acquire the resources needed to turn your ideas into reality.
Our team is dedicated to fostering your learning and creativity, offering guidance and expertise to help you achieve your goals. Please note that we are an educational space, not a service provider, where you develop your projects.

Hours of Operation
The Kao ICS is operated by undergraduate students and is open to users from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. anytime Fall and Spring classes are in session. Availability during breaks or holidays is available on a limited basis by appointment. Summer hours vary from year to year.
